Bentley University

A private university in Waltham, Massachusetts, founded in 1917, offering business-focused undergraduate, graduate and certificate programmes alongside arts and sciences.

Bentley University is a private, not-for-profit university in Waltham, Massachusetts, ten miles west of Boston. Founded in 1917 with 30 accounting students on Huntington Avenue in Boston, it now occupies a 163-acre campus and enrols approximately 4,000 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate and PhD students. Its teaching blends a business curriculum with arts and sciences, with particular strengths in accounting, business education and career services.

The university's portfolio spans bachelor's degrees, master's and PhD programmes, and professional certificates designed for learners at any career stage. Across these it reports that 97 to 99 per cent of graduates are employed or enrolled in graduate school within six months of leaving, and the Princeton Review has ranked its career services first in the nation for four consecutive years. Its alumni network numbers 65,000 worldwide.

Bentley states that it was founded on the belief that business education could be a force for good, and its mission emphasises the cultivation of ethical business leaders and the view that good business can change the world beyond the bottom line. Language teaching and instruction roles at the university sit alongside its broader departments in business, accounting and the liberal arts.
