Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) is a two-year public college founded in 1912, serving a nine-county district in Northeast Wisconsin. The institution provides education, degree programmes and workforce training to individuals and employers, and serves more than 21,100 people each year. It was named a top-ten finalist for the 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
Teaching is delivered across six academic colleges through more than 200 degree, diploma, certificate and apprenticeship programmes, spanning information technology, manufacturing technology, healthcare, business and public safety. Instruction takes place in high-tech learning labs fitted with industry-standard equipment, and faculty are drawn from practitioners with real-world industry experience. A separate Corporate Training and Economic Development department delivers incumbent worker training and economic development services to regional employers, training more than 7,250 workers annually.
The college reports that 92% of graduates are employed and 96% report satisfaction with their training; it counts over 70,000 alumni. Its stated mission is to enrich lives and strengthen communities through accessible education, with an emphasis on student success, strategic partnerships and regional economic vitality.
