Collaborative for Educational Services

Non-profit educational services agency in Massachusetts delivering professional development, coaching and specialised programmes in ELL instruction, migrant education, special education and early childhood.

The Collaborative for Educational Services is a non-profit educational services agency founded in 1974 and headquartered in Northampton, Massachusetts. It works with schools, districts, educators, community organisations and private industry to deliver professional development, coaching, technical assistance and specialised education programmes across the state. More than 50 years in operation, the agency designs research-based programmes intended to produce measurable outcomes for the learners it serves.

Its work touches several fields of direct relevance to English-language teaching professionals. The agency provides English Language Learner instruction and runs the Massachusetts Migrant Education Program, which serves migrant students statewide. Related programmes include education services delivered in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services for justice-involved youth, Special Education Services for students with disabilities, and Early Childhood Consultation. Central to the mission is a stated commitment to social justice and equity, with a focus on positive outcomes for underrepresented groups including English Language Learners, at-risk youth and students with disabilities.

Alongside these programmes, the Collaborative for Educational Services offers professional development and continuing education for educators and other practitioners, delivered online and in hybrid formats. Its client base spans K-12 schools and districts, early childhood education providers, government and youth services, community organisations and workforce training.
