Frisco Independent School District
Frisco, Texas, US
Public K-12 school district serving Frisco and North Texas with elementary, middle and high schools, academic, career and technical, fine arts and athletics programmes.
Frisco Independent School District (FISD) is a public K-12 school district serving students in Frisco, Texas, and surrounding communities in Collin and Denton counties, including portions of McKinney, Plano and Little Elm. Founded in 1902, when it operated from a single school building, the district now runs numerous elementary, middle and high schools across approximately 75 square miles. It is one of the largest and fastest-growing public school districts in Texas and the United States, and the largest A-rated district in the state; most of its growth has come over the past three decades.
The district delivers a full range of academic programming, alongside career and technical education, fine arts and athletics. Its stated mission is to "know every student by name and need", and instruction is organised around a personalised, student-centred approach in which educators are expected to understand each child's circumstances, strengths and potential. The district describes a commitment to small, intimate learning environments and individual attention despite its scale, together with strong community and parental involvement.
Teaching roles are based in the district's schools in and around Frisco, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of North Texas. Further information about the district and its schools is available at https://friscoisd.org/.
