Louisiana Community and Technical College System

Louisiana's statewide network of 12 community and technical colleges and adult education services, providing postsecondary, career and workforce training across 75 campuses.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) is the state's principal provider of higher education and workforce training. Established in 1999 and governed by a single Board of Supervisors under unified policies, it operates 12 community and technical colleges across 75 campuses - the most geographically widespread system of higher education in Louisiana. The system serves more than 130,000 students annually and graduates over 38,000 each year.

Its work spans postsecondary education, career and technical education, workforce development and adult education. The community and technical college network prepares individuals for workforce entry or transition to further study, with educational access extended throughout the state. WorkReady U, the system's adult education network, partners with 22 adult education providers delivering instruction at nearly 200 sites across Louisiana.

LCTCS describes its mission as improving the quality of life of Louisiana's citizens through education, with an explicit focus on reducing geographic, financial and academic barriers to postsecondary study. The system emphasises lifelong learning, equitable access for all residents of the state and workforce readiness. Its geographic presence is statewide, covering all 75 campuses.
